Ege University Cancer Research Center

Ege University Cancer Research Center is the first population-based cancer registry in Turkey. It was founded in 1991 as a Project protocol between the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkish American Health Research Center in Boston, Massachusetts and Ege University in 1991. The Center was established under the Rectorate of the Ege University with the approval of the Higher Education Council dated 30.12.1991 (Official Gazette July 1992 - Issue 21298). The Cancer Research Center is now collecting hospital based cancer data sharing the hospital based cancer registry data with Izmir Provincial Health Directorate. Our center also planning and conducting cancer epidemiology studies at national and international level.

Our center also makes protocol studies in cancer diagnosis and treatment within the Ege University Faculty of Medicine as interdisciplinary cooperation.
